Police fire teargas at protesters again

(BangkokPost.com) - Police fired teargas at People's Alliance for Democracy (PAD) supporters, who surrounded the Parliament and blocked exits and entrances of the venue, to disperse the crowd on Tuesday afternoon.

About 30 teargas were shot at protesters, and more than 500 police officers tried to break through the protesters to bring the cabinet ministers, MPs and senators out of the Parliament.

They were trapped inside the building after attending the government's delivering of policy statement, which ended at 1pm.

The teargas, which were fired at around 4.30pm, caused protesters to retreat from the site.
